20th January, 2014, London – Nyetimber, England’s finest sparkling wine producer, is pleased to announce that it will begin releasing bottling, riddling and disgorgement dates from today.
Over the course of 25 years, Nyetimber has established itself as a pioneer and has become known for its integrity and perfectionism. This new initiative has been implemented in an effort towards greater transparency and to demonstrate Nyetimber’s continued endeavour for quality.
Bottling, riddling and disgorgement are very important stages in sparkling winemaking. Sharing all three dates will provide consumers with a precise chronology of each wine bottle, including time aged on the lees and post-disgorgement ageing. !
Eric Heerema, Owner and CEO says “As the most prestigious English sparkling wine producer, we have a responsibility for transparency and at Nyetimber, we pride ourselves on going over and beyond the standardised practices established by the world’s most renowned sparkling wine producers.”
Bottles of Classic Cuvee 2009 now have a new back label with a code and message directing consumers to www.nyetimber.com/wineinfo to discover their wine’s story.
The website has been set up so that connoisseurs and enthusiasts alike will find it easy to navigate, useful and informative.
Cherie Spriggs, head winemaker adds “We didn’t feel that disgorgement date alone would give an accurate indication of the story and taste of the wine therefore we felt that sharing all three dates would enable consumers to better understand the process involved in creating a bottle of Nyetimber.”
