Converted Routemaster bus embarks on journey around the UK
Nyetimber, makers of England’s finest sparkling wine, has today unveiled ‘The Nyetimber’ – a beautifully reimagined 1968 Routemaster bus. Stopping at some of the UK’s most sought-after events this summer, the Nyetimber bus offers a luxurious, quintessentially British setting for passengers to relax and enjoy a glass of Classic Cuvee, Rosé or Blanc de Blancs.
The Nyetimber has three lavish hospitality areas – the Garden, Lower Deck and Upper Deck – each of which has been designed and built with the uncompromising attention to detail synonymous with the producer. The Garden is a splendid outdoor seating area and is the perfect spot for wiling away a sunny afternoon. The Lower Deck of the bus is home to a handcrafted wooden and copper bar, which sits against the backdrop of an imposing Union Jack cut from oak. Plush leather seating awaits passengers to climb aboard, and a ‘Push for Nyetimber’ button means that those who do sit down need never get up! Head to the exclusive Upper Deck for spectacular open-air views courtesy of The Nyetimber’s remarkable raisable roof. The Upper Deck is incredibly versatile and can be easily transformed from a large standing space to a more intimate dining setup. A state of the art entertainment system throughout the bus provides a fitting soundtrack to your ‘journey’.
Eric Heerema, Nyetimber’s owner and chief executive, comments: ‘A great deal of our focus this year has been on bringing our wonderful Nyetimber experience to a wider audience – from our vineyard open days to our stunning new bar at the home of Land Rover BAR. The Nyetimber allows us to deliver this experience in a way that’s both playful and pioneering, yet still very much in keeping with our luxury brand.”
The Nyetimber’s first stop is at this week’s Henley Royal Regatta 2015. Other events on the bus’s summer route include: Smoked & Uncut – Lime Wood (12th July), The Curious Arts Festival 2015 (17th – 19th July), Smoked & Uncut Festival – The Pig, near Bath (2nd August) and Smoked & Uncut Festival – The Pig, Brockenhurst (6th September).
