Nyetimber Celebrates 30-Year History with the Launch Of 1086: a Prestige Cuvee crowning decades of craftsmanship and excellence

Nyetimber, the pioneering English sparkling wine, today makes history with the launch of 1086, a Prestige Cuvee named to honour the year the vineyard’s estate was first mentioned in the Domesday book. Coinciding with Nyetimber’s 30th anniversary, 1086 is the ultimate expression of owner Eric Heerema’s vision and his confidence in England’s ability to produce world-class sparkling wines.

Available in white and rosé, 1086 is made of a selection from a precious treasury of over 90 exceptional wines superbly crafted by Head Winemaker Cherie Spriggs with winemaker and husband, Brad Greatrix. 1086 is produced entirely from 100% estate-grown fruit and parcel-by-parcel selection from the greensand of West Sussex.

1086 is a selection of the best of the best wines produced by Nyetimber in a given vintage and will only be produced in exceptional years. This Prestige Cuvee is characterised by its balance, acidity, length and texture, with these qualities combining seamlessly on the palate”, says Head Winemaker Cherie Spriggs.

To launch 1086, various activities will take place in the coming months, including a partnership with Tommy Banks. A true pioneer in the culinary world, Tommy was the youngest British chef to be awarded a Michelin Star and prides himself on celebrating the best in British produce. Following the success of his award-winning restaurant, The Black Swan, Tommy has recently opened the doors to his second restaurant, Roots, located in the heart of York. Tommy will work alongside Nyetimber to launch a bespoke four course tasting menu to compliment the launch of 1086.

A first for the brand, Nyetimber has also launched a supporting media campaign to mark this momentous launch. The brand’s creative campaign reflects Nyetimber’s status as a celebratory British luxury brand. The campaign film, shot at The Lanesborough, features professional violinist, Sally Potterton, giving the performance of her lifetime and will be projected on key landmarks

across London, such as Marble Arch, Wellington Arch, The Tate Modern, Tate Britain and The National Gallery on the night of the launch.

Synonymous with celebration, Nyetimber is raised in toasts at everything from sporting triumphs to theatrical masterpieces. The exceptional wines can be found at the tables of distinguished bars and fine dining restaurants across the world.

Available at exclusive retailers including Fortnum & Mason and Harrod’s, as well as selected accounts such as Osvald’s, The Lanesborough and 67 Pall Mall. 1086 will be priced at £150 and the 1086 Rosé at £175.
