Nyetimber at the National Theatre
On Tuesday 5th March, the National Theatre hosted its biennial Up Next Gala, raising a record-breaking £1.165 million to support their inspirational work in communities across the United Kingdom.
The Up Next Gala began with a Nyetimber reception, after which a bespoke dinner with paired wines was served on the stage of the Olivier Theatre.
Once-in-a-lifetime experiences were won in an auction hosted by Lord Dalmeny, UK Chairman of Sotheby’s. Lots included Sunday lunch on a National Theatre stage, a unique curated visit to the Van Gogh museum staying at Soho House Amsterdam, and an exclusive tour of the Nyetimber Estate in West Sussex.
Rufus Norris, Director of the National Theatre, said: “The UK is more divided than at any point in my lifetime. Across the country, a staggering number of people face a pervasive inequality of opportunity. The arts, which can transform lives, are not accessible to those who might most benefit from them. Using funds raised from the gala, we are able to continue working with partners across the UK to redress this imbalance and harness the power and potential of theatre to bring people together.”
Guests at the star-studded gala included recent Oscar winner Sophie Colman, Cate Blanchett, David Tennant, Tamsin Greig, Charles Dance, Sir Lenny Henry and a host of England’s finest acting talent.
With a dedication to craftsmanship, artistry and championing the finest British talent, Nyetimber proudly supports the National Theatre and its work.
