AN OPEN DAY FOR LOCALS AT NYETIMBER’S CHARTHAM VINEYARD

We were delighted to welcome residents of Chartham and the surrounding area to Nyetimber’s Chartham vineyard for a special Open Day giving locals the chance to step behind the scenes, explore the vines and discover the craftsmanship behind our English Sparkling Wine.

The Open Day began at The Nyetimber Bus, our beautifully reimagined Routemaster. With its quintessential English charm, the RML 2757 has become one of our iconic assets, travelling to some of the country’s most celebrated events throughout the year. At our Chartham vineyard, it was the perfect place to gather and take in the surroundings.

From there, we met a member of our viticultural team for a guided walk among the vines. Surrounded by the Kentish landscape, our guests learnt all about this year’s growing season and what we can expect of the 2026 vintage. They also discovered more about our presence in Kent, where we now own 188 hectares across the county, including 70 of which were planted in Chartham between 2017-2024.

Nyetimber began as a small wine producer in West Sussex and has since grown to 11 vineyards across West Sussex, Hampshire and Kent. Throughout our journey, our commitment has remained rooted in the land and in the people who bring our vision to life. Chartham is an important part of that story, and the Open Day was an opportunity to experience it first-hand.

The vineyard tour was followed by a relaxed tasting of two of our wines, Classic Cuvee Multi-Vintage and Rosé Multi-Vintage. Classic Cuvee MV, our signature wine, balances elegance and intensity, with notes of honey, almond, pastry and baked apple. Rosé MV celebrates the fresh red-fruit character of Pinot Noir, combining notes of raspberry and sweet spice with freshly baked pastry.

We loved welcoming local residents to our Chartham vineyard and sharing our story with the community. We hope our guests enjoyed the day as much as we enjoyed hosting them, and we look forward to seeing them at similar Nyetimber events in the future.
