Today marks the start of the 2015 harvest at Nyetimber. Beginning this morning at Manor Vineyard in West Chiltington, West Sussex, the harvest is due to last two weeks.
Up to 400 people will pick 146 hectares of vines by hand, to ensure that only the best grapes are used to produce our award-winning English sparkling wines.
Head winemaker, Cherie Spriggs, comments: ‘Everyone in the team is feeling very positive and excited about this year’s harvest. Although each growing season is unique, we have seen a similar set of conditions to what we did in 2010 and 2013. Our Classic Cuvee 2010 was recently awarded a gold medal at the 2015 CSWWC, and we are confident that we will be producing some excellent sparkling wine this year.’
