On 29 November, we were delighted to support the annual Fayre of St James Christmas Concert. Held in the beautiful enclaves of St James’ Church and hosted by the Quintessentially Foundation and The Crown Estate, the event was in aid of Cheryl’s Trust. In 2015, Cheryl’s Trust teamed up with The Prince’s Trust to support disadvantaged young people in the North East of England.
Set up by former Girls Aloud star, solo artist and television personality Cheryl Cole, Cheryl’s Trust is committed to raising £2million to help The Prince’s Trust build a new state-of-the-art centre in Newcastle. The centre will provide a place for vulnerable young people to receive the help and support they need to succeed. The money will be raised through the singer’s own charitable foundation, with the Fayre of St James providing an excellent platform to raise awareness of the work of these two wonderful charities.
Now in its fifth year, more than 500 guests attended the concert, enjoying a merry evening of carol singing and music from stars such as Olly Murs and Paul Potts. Readings were also performed by Will Poulter and Joely Richardson.
At our Nyetimber bar in the courtyard of St James’ Church, guests raised a toast to the evening with a glass of Nyetimber before the party moved over to Jermyn Street to witness Cheryl Cole switch on the Christmas lights.
The evening was successful in raising more than £200,000 through a silent auction. Prizes included a holiday to the Maldives, afternoon tea with Stephen Fry and an exclusive experience at the Nyetimber vineyards.
