George Blogg
George began his full-time cooking career in his home county of Dorset, following this he moved to London and worked under Philip Howard at the double Michelin starred restaurant The Square in Mayfair before moving to another two star to work at Le Champignon Sauvage under David Everitt-Matthias in Cheltenham. Throughout his career George also honed his skills by embarking on stages in some of Europe’s finest kitchens including The Ledbury in Notting Hill, Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons in Oxfordshire, In De Wulf in Belgium and Noma in Copenhagen.
His first Head Chef position found him working for the most highly decorated sommelier, the late Gerard Basset, at his hotel in the New Forest. Part of this role involved him discussing wines with the sommelier team to pair menus for the regularly occurring wine dinners. He then moved to Gravetye Manor in 2014, which was awarded a Michelin star just over a year after George started and has retained it ever since. George’s dishes and ingredients are dictated by the produce grown on the hotel’s estate and his menu showcases ultra-seasonal and regionally reflective food, cooked with both modern and classical technique. Among other awards, George achieved the ultimate accolade for a chef in the hospitality industry in 2022, a Master of Culinary Arts.
